Project-30: Empowering Women Through Skill Acquisition
Project-30 is a transformative skill acquisition and business training program dedicated to empowering underprivileged women in northern Nigeria, particularly in Kaduna State. By providing marketable and sustainable skills, this initiative aims to address high unemployment rates among women, foster financial independence, and stimulate local economic growth through entrepreneurship and job creation.
Problem Statement & Rationale
Unemployment among women in Kaduna State remains a significant challenge, leading to financial dependency, economic stagnation, and limited opportunities for growth. Many young women lack access to quality vocational training and entrepreneurial guidance, leaving them unable to break the cycle of poverty.
Project-30 directly addresses this issue by equipping women with relevant skills that are in high demand, enabling them to generate income, support their families, and contribute meaningfully to their communities.
Our Approach & Model
Project-30 adopts an innovative “Learn-to-Teach” model to ensure sustainability and knowledge transfer. Each year, 30 women will be selected and trained in skills of their choice, such as data visualization, fashion design, catering, beauty, and shoe/accessory making.
After completing their training and mastery period, they are expected to train an additional 30 women within their communities, creating a ripple effect that amplifies the program’s impact. To support participants in their entrepreneurial journey, resources and mentorship will be provided to enhance their business development and market readiness.
Impact & Sustainability
Project-30 is designed to create long-term economic transformation. Over five years (2025–2030), the program will directly train 150 women, while an additional 150 women will benefit through the “Learn-to-Teach” model, bringing the total reach to 300 women.
Given an average family size of four, at least 1,200 individuals will experience improved financial stability, reducing poverty and fostering economic resilience in Kaduna State.
Our Expected Outcomes
- Establishing a self-sustaining cycle of skill acquisition and knowledge transfer
- Enhancing economic stability for trained women and their families
- Promoting community-driven entrepreneurship and job creation
- Developing a financially empowered generation of women contributing to the local economy
With Project-30, we are not just training women—we are building a future where they thrive as entrepreneurs, leaders, and changemakers in their communities.
